TESTIMONIALS

  • 1. What is KA1 exactly?

     KA1 (Key Action 1) is the Erasmus+ action that funds international learning mobility for students, learners, teachers, and school teams.

    Its purpose is to support participation in courses, training, internships, and educational programmes abroad.

     For secondary schools, VET colleges, applied universities and design schools, this means: students can join international courses funded by the school’s Erasmus+ mobility budget.

     Our 3-day masterclass in Antwerp fits KA1 perfectly because it is:

    • a recognised international learning activity,

    • with clear learning outcomes,

    • combining material research, studio practice, production insight, and design culture,

    • officially considered *learning mobility**.

    2. How KA1 works for our masterclass

    Schools can fund the masterclass through three KA1 routes:

    1.  Using remaining KA1 budget (2024–2026)
      Many schools still have unused mobility funds.
      The masterclass can be added immediately.

    2. Through an active KA1 project
      Most Dutch VET and applied universities run two-year KA1 projects.
      If such a project is active, the masterclass can be included without submitting a new application.

    3. Through top-up funding or additional calls
      The Dutch National Agency regularly opens supplementary funding rounds.
      Schools can request additional budget and participate.
      Schools may also include the masterclass in the February 2026 Erasmus+ application for mobilities in 2026–2027.
      We provide a complete Erasmus Mobility Pack (programme, learning outcomes, agreements, certificates) to minimise administrative effort.

    3. Frequently Asked Questions

    1.  What does “remaining KA1 budget” mean?
      Funds left over within an approved KA1 mobility project.
      This can be used directly to finance the masterclass.

    2. What is an “active KA1 project”?
      A 12–24 month KA1 project already funded and running.
      The masterclass can be added as an official mobility activity.

    3. What is “top-up funding”?
      Additional funding rounds offered by National Agencies for mobility, inclusion or extra budget needs.

    4. Do we need to submit a new Erasmus+ application?
      Not necessarily.
      Only if your school:
      has *no running KA1 project**, and
      has *no remaining budget**.
      Otherwise, participation is immediate.

    5. Is participation eligible under Erasmus+ rules
      Yes.
      The masterclass meets all KA1 criteria: international mobility, clear learning outcomes, hands-on learning, production insight, and short duration.

    6. What does Erasmus+ cover?
      Typically for Dutch schools:
      * €240 course fee support (€80/day)
      * €198 daily allowance (€66/day × 3)
      * ± €180 travel (100–499 km band)
      * €100 organisational support per student
      These contributions significantly lower student and school costs.

    7. What if the school has more questions?
      We happily assist by phone or email.
      We also provide a complete Mobility Pack, covering 90% of the administrative requirements.
